My Weight in Cake

Let me begin by saying that last week I earned 9 out of 10 workout points and even managed to become a bit lighter on my toes, if you catch my drift. Regardless of the cookies for dinner, it was a fairly successful week!

Now, with that being said, I am pretty sure I just ate my weight in cake. And not just any cake, we're talking ITALIAN CREAM CHEESE CAKE.

That's right, you heard me.

There was a birthday, and with any good, well-respected birthday, one must eat cake with wild abandon. Who cares that it wasn't MY birthday. It was someone's birthday and that's what matterd.

And no matter how hard I try, I cannot give up cake.

Or cookies.

Or frosting.

Or stale chocolate chips that are hiding in the back of my freezer where I pretend they don't exist. Oh, but they do. And they taunt me.

Anywho, I knew tonight would be a special night and I have resolved myself to having only one dessert per week. Oh the burdens I bear. And so I decided to dive right in and eat until I had coconut coming out of my nose.

Okay, not really, but you get me, right?

So, there was a little of this...

And a little of that...

And even this, which could very well be the CUTEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN. If you don't have a four year-old nephew, you should run out and get one IMMEDIATELY.

But this was what I was waiting for...and it's not the candles, people.

And apparently someone else was waiting for it too. Notice the fingerprints in the icing. Yep, he's a keeper.

But this, THIS, is why I came to celebrate. Oh sure, I was there for the guest of honor, but down deep in the depths of my soul, I knew that what I wanted more than anything was to face-plant into this cake.
I call this the vortex of culinary utopia. It's a powerful place, my friends.

And this is what I want to be buried in: cream cheese frosting with coconut and pecans. Don't deny me my dying wish.

I may or may not have had more than one piece.

Oh, and just to show you that I am health-minded, I ate this too.
So there.

So all in all, I would say it was a fairly
successful evening, wouldn't you?

Now just promise me you won't tell my other three teammates. And I promise to be a good girl for the rest of the week...or until someone else has a birthday. Anyone? Anyone?

  4. That boy IS pretty darn sweet! On another note, I dove into some pretty great birthday cake myself tonight. And I would love to be buried beside you in cream cheese frosting with pecans and coconut. Or anything chocolate....
