I believe that the Lord sometimes gives us the unexpected just so we realize Who exactly is in charge. He does this not because He is impartial or cunning, He does it because He sees the big picture. He does have a better view than we do, after all.
Yesterday, I received an email from my dad saying that his hearing on Monday has been vacated, meaning it has now left the jurisdiction of the district court (the one that this case has been in front of for the last five years) and it is now in front of the Colorado Supreme Court.
So, what does that mean?
I have no earthly idea.
From what we gather, it now means that we don't have to go in front of that same judge again, which is a huge relief. But it also may mean that the process could take longer just because the supreme court system is a much larger system.
So, our next step, as we wait for the appeal to be answered, is to have my dad transfer from Alamosa to Denver. He should have been in Denver in the first place, he should have never been sent to Alamosa. However, God had other plans. Evidently my family and I were supposed to become acquainted with the middle-of-nowhere Alamosa and with100 men who are in the same system my dad is in. And apparently these guys needed some donut love on Christmas. God has plans. Big, ginormous, unpredictable, holy plans.
For now, everything is the same. More waiting, more visiting, more Skype phone calls and more trips to Walmart. Not too horrible, just not normal.
I want to say a big MUCHAS GRACIAS to those who have been praying! See? Prayers move mountains, including large, judicial district ones. So keep it up, peeps! With the way things are moving, my dad could be home tomorrow.
Hey, stranger things have happened.
Oh, and happy March.
Thanks for the update Sarah! We will keep praying!
